Eurasia: from concept to reality

Dr Tatyana Valovaya has been Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission since 2012. She graduated from the Moscow Financial Institute, Department of International Economic Relations in 1980. During 1999-2012 she was Deputy Director, then Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Government of the Russian Federation.

‘Globalization or regionalization?’

The speaker will assess whether globalization is in a period of crisis and the prospects for new forms of integration, considering some historical parallels. She will also explain the nature of the Eurasian Economic Union and assess its accomplishments, as well as some myths and fears around this organisation.
