Emily Tamkin

Emily Tamkin is the US editor of the New Statesman. She is the author of The Influence of Soros: Politics, Power, and the Struggle for an Open Society and the forthcoming Bad Jews: A History of American Jewish Politics, Identities, and Arguments (out 2022). She has a BA with honours in Russian literature from Columbia College, Columbia University and a MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from Oxford, where she studied Georgian under Lia Chokoshvili. Her translation of Lasha Tabukashvili's "Taming the Falcon" is in Unlocking the Door. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and dog.
