I am a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies at the University of Oxford. I earned my BA and MA in Law from Tbilisi State University (2006), and LLM (2011) and PhD in Legal Theory (2016) from the University of Edinburgh. Before coming to Oxford I worked as a Visiting Lecturer at different universities in Georgia and was a Visiting Scholar at Freie Universität Berlin. I am a Researcher at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at Ilia State University. My research interests include critical legal theory, political theory, human rights theory, criminology and post-Soviet transformation. Over the course of the current fellowship, I will be analysing institutional reforms in Georgia between 2004 and 2012 and the effects of those reforms on public attitudes toward law and formal authority.
