Boy Ibisch

Originally from Germany, I received a B.A. in History at Merton College, Oxford, in 2024. I have a particular interest in intellectual history, which I would like to continue in this programme, focusing on how political thought and ideas of history intersect in contemporary discourse around security politics. I would like to apply this to Southeast Europe, particularly Romania, having spent the summer studying the language in Timișoara. I hope to research how conceptions of history have informed identity formation and foreign policy orientation. Otherwise, I have very broad interests in the political and cultural history of Russia and Eastern Europe.
