Anna Weininger is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the Academy for European Human Rights Protection at the University of Cologne, directed by Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Angelika Nußberger, M.A. She holds a law degree from the University of Cologne, where she specialized in European and Public International Law, with a particular emphasis on the international protection of human rights.
She has previously worked as a research assistant in several law firms, focusing primarily on commercial criminal law and European human rights law. In addition, she has served as a lecturer for a foundation and has been involved in projects related to Eastern European law. At the University of Cologne, she taught Fundamental Rights and Constitutional Law.
During Michaelmas Term 2025, Anna Weininger is advancing her doctoral project, “The Contemporary Human Rights Narrative in Russia,” under the supervision of Prof. Roy Allison.
